AISB Trip Thoughts

One thing I miss the most is how friendly everyone is to each other, I couldn't think of how people can be more friendly than that. We care about each other.

What is it?

It was kinda like a social experienment. A dozen people sharing a living space for a week, what would you do to make the most out of it (maximizing the fun, creating deep connections)?

For me, my goal was to have fun, explore, learn and connect.

Things I'm glad I did

Talk

I'm proud that i talked to some of them in person at the last night (instead of writing a note, cuz I'm too lazy lol)

I told them what I learned from them and why I appreciated them, IMO it's a better form of communication than the happy bag notes.

Dance

From my digital note to Sabi:

I think you're brave and willing to try new things, at Blue West, even though you don't know the dance, you started dancing (wobbling) and that was what inspired me to join you. I absolutely sucked at dancing but I wanted to learn, and you've been a very good example for me. I wanted to try (redacted) dance because it's so special, the music and how you move your body, and it seemed like an excellent opportunity to do that!

For context, Blue West is a place we volunteered at where we provided care for disabled people, talking to them and playing games with them, trying to understand their needs (many of them couldn't express themselves using language), trying to cheer them up and have some fun.

So I noticed how the good dancers are moving their shoulders and I tried to do that too, and I think it's an improvement.

Games

Card / board games: German, Azul, F the Landlord, Herd Mentality, What Do You Meme, Uno

Jackbox (Steam): Trivia Murder Party, Dictionarium (I love them)

I had to relearn the rules every time but it was fun!

And the escape room.

Learning about how people serve the community

At the food bank, for example.

Be inspired and inspiring others

I was inspired by:

• Talented people who knows more than I do
• Very decent people
• Very caring people
• People who have fought for freedom and for the betterment of society at rick of their lives. The ambition

I became known as the adventurer, K said Teddy always follows his heart and that I inspired him to a great level, and that was not what I expected but amazing.

I am also a good friend, a good listener, someone who asks good questions and innovate.

New things tried

Besides volunteering activities:

• Making s'mores
• Dances (Wobble, Lion Dance (not the Chinese one), Ride a Cowboy, (redacted)) at the bonfire and near the creek
• Cooking for more than 10 people - the amount of chicken we had to cut, season and fry was insane.
