TCWOTD: Running with Head Cut Off

The phrase in the title is used to describe someone who trades the open or ignoring the Market when evaluating if he should buy a stock with a pretty-good chart (and got turned against, as a result).

I love(d) to either 1) jump into action head-first (and keep doing it even though I'm aware that I knew too little for this to work, essentially the title) or 2) Keep learning and researching with no actual action.

Don't be like this. I couldn't imagine a more inefficient way to improve at something with the title or 2).
