TIL: Who 元光路 Is Named After

I knew the 陳元光 but I didn't know 元光南路 was named after him. Never made that connection. Interesting! I thought they just used 2 fancy chars to name that road.

So who's this guy?

漳州、潮汕與畲族史上的關鍵人物。福建漳州人與臺灣和新加坡的漢族閩南漳州移民後代，均尊稱其為「開漳聖王」（Khai-Chiang Sìng-ông）

So he came to Chiang-Chiu in Tang Dynasty, before that we were UnCiviLized. I learned that in elementary school haha.

I think that's one of the reasons why 陳 /Tan / Chen / Chan is the #1 surname in the city in throughout Hokkien speaking area.
