I spent a week in the mountain region of North Carolina AKA WNC, or the Far West, more specifically.
The people there love their mountains and are proud of them, I grew up near mountains and sea and we should be proud of them too.
Friends of Mountains is literally on their car plates!

Asheville
Is a special place indeed.
The choice of mass planting Chinese photinia on downtown streets is questionable IMO - In Fudan people walk around those trees to avoid the odor attack, but in AVL I had to hold my breath often to avoid smelling the deadly smell.
