Lee's Tailor Shop on Western Blvd - The tailor store I went to

My chest size is ~35 inches, and I wear 36R (R: regular length) jackets (if not specified otherwise, jackets on this site refers to sport coat / blazer / suit jackets).

35 inches is the circumference, jacket size normally comes in 2-increaments, like 36, 38, 40.

36R jackets fit me well on the shoulders (I learned that shoulder fit is the most important after throwing money down the drain on some bad purchases. Now I read fine print and every tag on the garment).

However, I discovered that many brands (off the rack ones) are too long on the sleeves, that makes sense because it's easier to shorten than lengthen them (since you need to fit people with different arm lengths).

After spending $$ on shortening sleeves (which involves moving the buttons up), I learned to pay particular attention to not just shoulder fit, but sleeve fit.
