NCSU has a Toastmasters branch located at the Venture building.
The first time I heard of toastmaster was probably in my elementray, a friend I admire talked about it.
At that time I thought everyone at ToastMasters must be really good at giving speeches, and I wanted to see for myself. And maybe joining the club and work on my skills.
Sadly, I think in China the club is much more elite and they only meet in big cities (easily >20x Raleigh population), and I didn't have the chance to go. but now I do. :)
I hasn't paid the membership fee yet, and am attending events as a guest and I speak at the Table Topics (impromptu, 2 min) in the past sessions.
I realized that just doing it does not make you do it better, I need to practice how to speak with my hands at home before the next session.

Roger at the club. He's our most respected speaker. | The off-white Panama hat is mine :)
