Frisbee / Disc Golf

Kentwood Park Memorial Bench | The park has the largest disc golf course in the area

A good frisbee is not cheap. It has to be adequately weighted, can self-balance mid-air after you throw it away, and has good aerodynamics so that it doesn't fall too fast or deviate from the path.

After a few days of frisbee-ing, my right arm really hurts. Oh I also played pickleball on the third day!

Frisbee in Teams

7 on 7. Oh man there was a lot of running, I'm filling my whole weeks exercise quota in an hour.

It's basically football but with a frisbee, and the goal is to catch the frisbee in opponent's goal box.

Pickleball

I don't know how this gained such popularity, especially among the older folks. Badminton is clearly more fun and aggresive to me!

In the fancy basement court in Research IV building. I went there >10 times. I also did my yoga sessions there lol. Love the drawing on the wall!

Spike Ball

This monday, when I was about to leave. Some of them will play till sunset.

Weekly events on Meetup, ~30 people meet on the huge Big Field at Dix Park. We play in the shadow, from afternoon to sunset

I was surprised that people remembered my name, even though I only went once before the last time.

6/24/24: I won my first 2 games! I joined late so other people are exhausted (they play from 4:30 to sunset, I played from 5:45 to 8). The 2 games were the last 2 before I left. I did try to apply tips other people taught me and I feel I'm getting better instead of deadweight lol. My teammates clapped my hand hard and it hurt.

Lacrosse

It was hard but seems very fun. I plan to practice it next time someone brings the gear.

Chess Club

I like the bar too | Everyone's so friendly
Colorful pieces | Bongcloud opening | Mini chess set

Go Club

I'm so bad at this game.

Lock Picking

The art of physical penetrating against locks of all kinds.

See NTIT: Lock Picking.

Running

See NCSU Faculty Run Club.

I ran 3 km in just 20 minutes, and I was shocked that I could do that!
